Lost in the maze of career paths? Get into the fast lane with apprenticeship training. You can become a foreman, supervisor, superintendent or you can move into a management position. Prerequisites

To enter the apprenticeship program, you must meet the following state standards.

1. Must be 18 years of age.
2. Must have proof of a minimum of 10 years of education.
3. Must be employed in the plumbing industry.
4. We are a drug-free work program
5. A good driving record is recommended.
6. Must be physically able to perform the work of the plumbing trade.
7. Curriculum is in English only.

Earn While You Learn

Are you aware that over four million men and women work in the building trades? That's more than one third of the skilled labor force in the United States! Among those four million workers, there are nearly 351,000 plumbing mechanics. They have well-paying, satisfying careers in an industry that touches the lives of all of us!

Between now and the year 2008, the construction industry will hire more than 1,000,000 new workers. The majority of these new workers will attend an apprenticeship program.

In this industry, apprenticeship programs are an alternative to college which allows you to earn while you learn your trade, both on the job and in the classroom. Now is the time to be a part of a highly skilled work-force of the 21st Century. Wages paid to plumbing apprentices, being professionally trained by a state registered apprenticeship programs, are among the highest for any skilled workers. Talk to your employer about joining this training program that will teach you all the facts of the plumbing industry, from pipe fitting analysis and water distribution systems to installation and plumbing repairs.

You will get over 180 hours of classroom study including hands-on training in our state of the art lab facility.

Four Year Curriculum

1st Year: 0 - 1 Years Experience
Introduction to the trade, simple mathematics, the science of plumbing waste disposal, pipe fitting analysis, first-aid training, OSHA Training, fixtures, fitting and valves, and basic mechanical drawing.

2nd Year: 1 or More Yrs Experience
Water distribution systems, mathematics, offsets and formulas, drain, waste, and vent systems, rough-in sheets, basic welding, related science, rigging and hoisting, and local plumbing codes.

3rd Year: 2 or More Yrs Experience
Theory of operation and installation of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional fixtures, fittings, appliances and appurtenances, gas piping and appliance venting, corrosion control, levels and transits, offset calculations, heat transfer, basic electricity and blueprint analysis.
Understanding the Florida Building Code. Preparation for the journeyman exam.

4th Year Class
Repair of fixtures and fittings, pumps, indirect wastes, cross-connection control devices, basic heating systems, material takeoff, plumbing code, final review and examinations.
